Responsible for the development, preparation, administration and professional classroom instruction of Kootenai Health’s (KH) de-escalation and crisis intervention training for staff members. Responsibilities: Provides new employee orientation for Kootenai Health and applicable training and in-services to Kootenai Clinic staff Coordinates and instructs security related training to the Security Department staff with applicable programs set forth by KH, Works directly with Organizational Development to ensure compliance of mandatory training for staff Trains, coordinates and communicates with other KH instructors that are affiliated with relevant courses Data entry for all related courses and training to include maintaining and sending applicable documentation to record holders and affiliated agencies; as well as to prepare reports related to data and compliance Serves as an example to security and other KH staff A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred Minimum of 3 years’ Security, Military or Police experience required Experience and a high degree of proficiency in subject expertise and providing instruction in and/or teaching and training personnel (preferably in a Security / Law Enforcement arena) Knowledge of current standards pertaining to the Security Industry Detailed knowledge of relevant materials, equipment, applications and use of tools and the latest processes relevant to the security industry Experience in creating, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures, particularly those related to security and law enforcement training is preferred Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and effective oral and written communication skills BLS is required within General Orientation Instructor level certifications prior to application or to be obtained within 90 days of employment is necessary in the following courses: MOAB, OC Spray, Handcuffing, Baton Tactics, Use of Force & other approved less than lethal devices / certifications Working Conditions: Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in a clinical job Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment Continue your career with Kootenai Health!
