We are looking for an efficient and organised person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will also be IT literate with an interest in working in a healthcare and technology driven environment.

To carry out in a responsible and efficient way the provision of reception duties & clerical support to the radiotherapy department.
Provide patient support as appropriate to assist the patient pathway.

These responsibilities will be carried out under the guidance of the superintendent radiographers.
Provide friendly and professional reception of patients and their escorts.
Record the attendance of patients in the appointment system.
Make bookings for radiotherapy treatments in collaboration with the radiographic staff.
Arrange patients’ appointments and provide summary and assist in arranging hospital transport and outpatient clinic appointments as required.
Contact clinical specialists and doctors as directed by radiographers and nursing staff.
Greet visitors to department and make contact as appropriate.
o appraise the superintendent radiographer of stock levels for routine supplies and consumables and complete purchase orders for approval as necessary.
Collect patient related data, immobilisation equipment and other radiotherapy equipment upon request of the radiographers. To include gathering details of previous treatment from outside the Trust.
Person specification Education/Qualifications
General education to GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent
GCSE English Language & Mathematics Grade 4 or above or equivalent
Level 3 (or higher) education or training
Experience
Have experience of working in client facing roles
Experience of working with computer systems to manage bookings or similar
Evidence of previous admin and clerical roles
Experience in hospital environment
Skills/Ability/Knowledge
Good interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members using both written and spoken English
Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise own workload
Computer literate with associated keyboard skills
Evidence of commitment to customer care initiatives

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient‑facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
