Factory Location: Sacramento, CA

Compensation:$28.73 / Hour

This position is seasonal , with the possibility of direct hire and increased compensation upon transition to a permanent role, contingent on performance and other relevant factors.

Responsibilities

Ensure quality of processes, raw materials and finished products through inspection, diagnosis and record keeping

Perform online inspection, sanitation and cleaning activities effectively.

Communicate with production technicians and team leaders to resolve potential quality issues.

Conduct coliform and air testing, pseudomonas, yeast, mold, and algae tests.

Perform positive and negative controls.

Collect samples using aseptic techniques for microbiological analysis

Conduct chemical, physical, sensory, and microbiological tests on various samples. Evaluate results against specifications

Perform testing on inbound, new and reconditioned equipment and raw materials

Conduct basic water chemistry tests (e.g., pH, turbidity, residual cleaning chemicals)

Prepare testing media, perform sterility testing, and ensure suitability of media

Monitor incoming water from pipelines and bulk deliveries

Maintain UV-light reactors, including lamp/ballast changes and calibration verification

Collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot system or equipment failures

Clean and disinfect water process piping and storage tanks

Conduct internal audits for quality/food safety programs, document findings, and develop corrective actions

Monitor and analyze consumer complaints

Actively participate in the DOR, taking actions and coaching to gain results for manufacturing excellence

Manage the factory release of finished products

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science/Technology, or comparable Science field.

Minimum (2) years’ experience in related role, prior exposure to manufacturing in the food or beverage industry preferred. Prior experience working with chemicals is required

Knowledge of microbiological techniques such as preparation of media, reading and interpreting microbial growth and standard plating techniques

Knowledge of EPA and FDA regulations for water and waste disposal

Able to lift and pull 50 lbs. as needed while performing work

Must be able to do physical inspections of equipment that will require climbing, reaching, and extending arms overhead
