Job Overview Ambassador Healthcare at College Park is seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Part‑Time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our facility. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff while supporting daily front‑desk operations and maintaining safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming telephone calls, determine the nature of calls, and route them to the appropriate department or individual
Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when staff are unavailable
Provide callers with general information, including facility address, directions, and services
Operate the paging and telephone systems as needed
Coordinate resident calls by directing them to nursing units for residents without personal phones
Greet visitors warmly and direct them to appropriate offices or resident rooms
Monitor visitor access, sign‑in procedures, and front‑door activity, including elopement risk residents
Offer beverages to visitors waiting for administrative staff when appropriate
Ensure visitors comply with facility rules and policies
Maintain updated directories including resident room lists, emergency contacts, department extensions, and on‑call personnel
Maintain a list of critical residents or residents restricted from receiving phone calls and route calls appropriately
Monitor the presence and location of vendor and sales representatives within the facility
Maintain positive communication with residents, families, medical professionals, and external healthcare organizations
Strictly adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements at all times
Candidate Requirements
Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred, but not required
Nursing home or long‑term care experience preferred
Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Flexibility to work weekends and occasional weeknight shifts as needed
