Business Engagement Coordinator

The incumbent will provide general support to the Business Engagement Team, serve as the initial point of contact for external business clients inquiring about Commerce Rhode Island programs and services, and assist with managing the company’s CRM system.

Execute the Business Engagement mission by supporting in-state businesses with start-up and expansion needs through timely responses to incoming web and phone inquiries. Respond to and research customer inquiries, coordinating with internal teams and partner organizations to deliver effective guidance and solutions. Support management of the CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and timely updates. Provide operational and project support to the Business Engagement team as necessary. Identify, promote, and facilitate access to partner programs that benefit businesses. Represent the state and corporation at trade shows, industry forums, and public events to promote programs and services. Intelligence : The ability to acquire understanding and absorb information rapidly. A quick study. Resourcefulness : Passionately finds ways over, around, or through barriers to success. Achieves results despite lack of resources. Goes beyond the call of duty. Shows bias for action. A results-oriented “doer.” Written Communications : Writes clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and word usage. Qualifications
High aptitude for verbal and written communication, interpersonal communication and organization skills. Demonstrate ability to seek out information and incorporate creative solutions to maximize program effectiveness and efficiency with the ability to multi-task. Demonstrated approach to analysis and problem-solving with decision-making capability in a timely manner Highly resourceful team player, yet able to work effectively independently. Minimum of One (1) year working knowledge of Salesforce CRM, Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Political Science or Law, or another related field. Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of customer service role with experience in project management and financial services Classification Regular Full Time – 37.5 Hours per Week Salary / Exempt Reports to Vice President Business Engagement Rhode Island Commerce Corporation is an at-will employer; no employment contracts exist.
