Job Summary Murphy Oil is currently looking for a Drilling & Completions Operations Manager to be responsible for the operational, technical, safety, environmental, financial and administrative aspects of D&C operations, while ensuring compliance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities Health, Safety and Environment
Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Ensure HSE management systems are communicated effectively to personnel
Verify wellsite operations against Well Control and HSE standards
Ensure all emergency drills are conducted and properly documented
Ensure compliance of HSE Standards by contractors; has single-point accountability throughout the campaign
Responsible for all Contractor HSE issues
Operations
Accountable for all wellsite activities and logistics
Manage development of wellsite personnel and prepare performance assessments
Maintain effective cost control for all operations
Monitor and audit operations, contingencies, and emergency response plans
Provide operational support during preparation of well programs
Liaise with rig contractor and service contractors
Ensure rig contractor is in full compliance with contractual obligations
Accountable for all rig move operations
Participate in periodic contractor facility audits and inspections
Manage any material changes to the well program via the MOC process
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
14 or more years of experience in drilling, completions, and workover operations
Experience in several offshore campaigns
2+ years of wellsite experience (DP preferred)
2+ years in Senior Drilling Engineer role
Well-developed leadership and management skills
Excellent technical and operational understanding of offshore D&C operations
Understanding of upstream E&P business
Advanced safety and risk management skills
Strong knowledge of industry-accepted HSE best practices
Familiar with local/regional regulatory requirements
Demonstrated supervisory skills
The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
