Job Description
Start-up, control, monitoring, and shut-down of a multiple Extruder sheet line
Efficiently perform color and/or mold change
Access the on‑line schedule in JDE and verify the Extrusion equipment and material system is properly set up for the next production job
Properly hook up material system and blenders to multiple Extruders and verify resins, colorants, regrind, and/or additives are being properly dispensed
Safely break down, clean, and re‑assemble Extrusion equipment
Safely break down, clean, and re‑assemble Grinding equipment
Verify good sheet quality through correct gauge control, width, color, and visual appearance
Make decisions regarding sheet quality
Operate and set up NDC system to assist with proper gauge control
Use Colori5 color check system to verify sheet is within specification
Use ISRA vision system to monitor sheet for quality defects
Operate turret winder system
Communicate with the proper departments regarding maintenance on the Extrusion and Material Handling equipment
Monitor Laminate Extrusion Assistants in department
Effectively communicate with all Extrusion shifts
Assist with color matches and/or material samples
Record shift production in WebEff
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent
Prior Sheet Extrusion experience preferred
Exceptional organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently
Ability to communicate and work well with other Laminate Extrusion Technicians, and Assistants
Ability to lead people in a positive manner
Must become fork truck certified with ability to drive safely and accurately
Must become LOTO certified
Able to follow GMP regulations
Ability to read handheld micrometer
Able to stand/walk for seven hours of an eight-hour shift
Able to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis
Ability to climb ladders/steps safely and without assistance
Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally
Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 110 pounds occasionally
Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on forklifts
Able to use and work well with standard hand tools
Vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12–18 inches
Ability to work in a dusty/smoky environment on an intermittent basis
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
Gauge sheet thickness
Take readings and store to Colori5 database
Enter production info into WebEFF
