Location: Roxboro, NC | Start Date: ASAP | Employment Type: Full‑Time
Base Pay:
$38.00/hr
About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to provide high‑quality services to special education students. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the EC Teacher will adapt curriculum, instruction, and classroom environments to meet the needs of students with significant disabilities or unique learning challenges. This role requires collaboration with general education staff, tutorial assistance, and specialized instruction to ensure all students have access to meaningful educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized and adaptive instruction to students with exceptional needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement student programs.
Participate in IEP planning and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Deliver tutorial assistance and consultation to support inclusion and student success.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
Valid NC teaching certificate in Exceptional Children (EC) required.
Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
Current CPR certification (if applicable).
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
