Ridgewood Water is accepting applications for a full-time Laborer 1 position in the Meter and Markout Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods of time under varying temperatures and climatic conditions. Ability to learn various types of electronic equipment, including field information systems, pipe-locating equipment, and equipment/software used for performing utility markouts. Under direction, may learn to make routine repairs to valves, fittings, pipe sections, or other equipment used in the area of assignment. Position may require working after scheduled hours (on occasion) to help complete work under the direction of a Senior Water Repairman, Supervisor, or Superintendent.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be able to obtain a valid NJ Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with applicable endorsements within 1 year of hire. Experience working at a water utility or in the trades preferred.
SALARY AND BENEFITS The Village of Ridgewood is a Civil Service municipality and an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Starting salary is $57,076 as per current Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is eligible for the NJ State Pension System as well as NJ State Health Benefits Program.
