Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading inventory accuracy and optimization efforts at the Parsons facility. This role oversees inventory control processes, manages cycle count operations, and ensures alignment with internal financial, operational, and compliance goals. The manager supervises a team of cycle counters and collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Accounting, and other departments to support continuous improvement and strategic inventory decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management & Optimization
Lead initiatives to reduce aged and excess inventory in alignment with company goals.
Implement inventory disposition strategies (e.g., material substitution, plant transfer, liquidation) while maximizing cash return.
Maintain and improve inventory classification, tracking, and visibility within the ERP system.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to assess excess and/or obsolete inventory and execute disposition actions based on monthly reporting.
Cycle Count Oversight
Supervise and develop a team of cycle counters, ensuring adherence to procedures and timely execution of counts.
Manage site-wide cycle counting schedules and ensure complete inventory coverage.
Monitor and report cycle count performance metrics, discrepancies, and adjustments.
Conduct audits and drive root cause analysis for inventory variances.
Inventory Infrastructure & Compliance
Ensure accurate labeling, storage, and physical organization of inventory locations.
Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures, documentation, and data integrity practices.
Identify and implement process improvements to support inventory control efficiency and accuracy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead and develop inventory control staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Promote accountability and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
4+ years of experience in recent inventory control or warehouse operations.
Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
Prior team leadership or supervisory experience required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory control and aging management
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Solid math and analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving
Investigative mindset to resolve discrepancies and drive improvements
Effective communicator with proven leadership and collaboration abilities
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move throughout the warehouse (walking, bending, reaching).
Ability to sit for extended periods to complete administrative and data analysis tasks.
Work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with typical exposure to equipment, noise, and dust.
Regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; overtime may be required.
