Job Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating outgoing shipments to ensure accurate and timely delivery to domestic and international customers. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Finished Goods walk-in and freezer. The ideal candidate is a team-player, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Verify orders, specification sheets, certificates and related accompanying paperwork
Pull products from walk-in and freezer units and verify to each line item on packing slip
Process packaging of products and documentation into shipping container
Accurately verify information passed to courier computer and label container for shipping
Prepare individual/departmental work areas with daily packaging supplies
Maintain general cleanliness and order in shipping part of warehouse
Ship displays and materials for scientific meetings
Perform daily/weekly maintenance on Finished Goods walk-in, freezer, and custom inventory
Work with Shipping Supervisor to create and maintain ISO work instructions
Complete supplies inventory monthly
Unload and put away shipping supplies when received (ability to operate a pallet jack)
Train and record training dates in Reliance in a timely manner
Follow instructions and complete shipping documentation for international countries.
Participate in computer software development input as needed.
Interact with management and employees from all departments.
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years shipping work related experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Requirements Computer, typing, word processing, email, prioritizing and proofreading skills. Ability to work in a team environment, handle a fast pace and meet deadlines, ability to use general office and courier computers and websites.
Physical Effort and Dexterity Requirements Mobility Factors Lifting – 60 lbs., Standing/Sitting – 65%, Walking – 15%, Bending/Reaching – 20%
Visual Acuity, Hearing, and Speaking Normal vision, hearing, and clear speech
Environmental Conditions Normal fluctuations in heat and air conditioning, occasionally enters walk-in unit cooled to approximately 4-8 degrees centigrade. Fumes, dust, noise.
