Database Analyst II - Cardiothoracic Surgery, Clinical Research

* Leads design of databases for modules of larger projects, monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of deliverables.* Helps determine appropriate architecture and other technical solutions and makes relevant recommendations to the project manager or clients.* Works with clients, project managers and designers in migrations of applications and databases to new environments.* Communicates to the project manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.* Coordinates with Information Security Office on assessing the risk of the database environments and appropriate controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information.* Tests applications to ensure performance and capacity plans meet expectations, including performing index tuning, query writing and optimization.* Designs and develops application database structure, tables, entity relationships and security privileges.* Ensures designs make efficient use of network and database resources.* Coordinates work with other team members for application development, administration, information security and network administration to ensure that architecture, functionality and design are consistent with all information technology strategies.* Researches and evaluates new technology, products, specialized hardware and tools to optimize development and functionality of websites and applications.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Washington University in St. Louis' collective success is significantly attributed to the passion and outstanding efforts of our community.
