Job Title: Bonding Technician
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Type: Contract To Hire
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Position Summary The Bonding Technician is responsible for the mechanical and structural assembly of rail vehicles in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This role demands precision, teamwork, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Apply and cure adhesives for structural bonding of components, ensuring proper surface preparation and alignment
Select and handle adhesives according to technical requirements, safety guidelines, and manufacturer specifications
Assemble equipment, sub-assemblies, and vehicle structures according to engineering drawings and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and bills of materials
Perform inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Operate hand and power tools in accordance with assembly instructions
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Basic understanding of adhesive bonding techniques and safe handling procedures
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Manual dexterity and proficiency with tools
Commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with adhesive bonding in a production or repair environment
IPC or related industry certifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or structural assembly
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Kaizen principles
Ability to perform quality inspections using technical documentation
Experience in rail, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing
Work Environment
Manufacturing shop floor environment
Standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required and provided by employer
