POSITION SUMMARY The Paint Prepper will prepare the truck for the paint process according to job specifications and ensure quality in the paint prep process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Be efficient in tools/equipment to sand, grind, and apply body filler to the apparatus to prepare for paint.

Wipes down the cab with wax and grease remover.

Inspects for flaws, dents, or imperfections on the truck’s body.

Compares to spec book and follows along with guidelines to best prepare the body.

Maintains a clean and organized workspace.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience

High school diploma/GED.

Strong mechanical and technical ability required.

Associate degree in autobody preferred.

2+ years of experience in autobody preferred.

Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills

Language:

Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities

Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.

Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.

Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely.

Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.

Other Qualifications

Driving license.

Own vehicle.

Hours of work - Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally.

Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.

Travel - Local, Overnight, Prolonged Periods.
