Description Job Overview The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly professional manner. One may also serve as a concierge for VIP guests in the specialty dining operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Completes all pre-, running, and post-shift side-work as directed by the manager or supervisor

Keeps work area neat, clean, and free of safety hazards

Manages the Reservation Book and calls guests to confirm restaurant reservations

Answers phones and maintains a professional presence at the restaurant entrance at all times

Maintains a warm and inviting phone demeanor at all times

Knows the menu offerings and hours/days of operations

Greets and welcomes guests in a friendly and professional manner

Manages the waiting guests and encourages guests to wait in the Lounge area

Seat guests gracefully and efficiently; Genuinely thank the guests as they leave the restaurant

Assists other team members in clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables

Communicate with the Dining Room team to ensure effective meal service and transition times for guests to ensure guest satisfaction

Cheerfully accommodates the needs and requests of any guest

Assists in the service of beverages, and food as requested. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age to serve alcoholic beverages

Keep all menus clean and in good condition

Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Must be able to deal effectively with diverse departments and have flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment.

Ability to adequately and successfully perform all aspects of this position

Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality

Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats

Must successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service audition

Must complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and BASSET training

Must complete ServeSafe Sanitation training

Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required

Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts

Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required

Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position

Base Pay

Pay range - $15.00 - $20.63 (The base pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.)
