Naturalist - Camp Willson (Sales)
Young Mens Christian Association of Central Ohio is hiring a Naturalists/Outdoor Education Facilitator for our upcoming Fall Season! Join us to facilitate fun and educational programs for school‑age children from all over.
Responsibilities
Think, communicate and behave as a cause‑driven leader and role model for staff and members, promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job‑related functions.
Research, develop, and deliver the established curriculum based on the needs of the students’ age level and school‑chosen curriculum.
Develop, maintain and improve program materials and supplies for the betterment of the program.
Share in the necessary job responsibilities of the staff team on a rotating basis (table setting, food waste, etc.).
Lead and assist in the leading of daytime and evening recreational programs.
Actively participate in staff meetings, staff trainings and in‑service activities.
Participate in any outreach programs or exchanges as necessary for the program operation.
Report facility, student, leader or teacher concerns to the immediate supervisor as necessary.
Provide a positive atmosphere for teachers, leaders, and students; allowing them flexibility to meet their needs and program goals.
Keep chaperones and teachers informed of any child concerns related to health, safety, discipline and the program.
Provide a safe and responsible atmosphere for children to learn and grow.
As skill level dictates, provide emergency care to all participants.
On a rotating basis, assist the Conference Director on weekends (approximately once every two months).
