Manually breaks down gaylord boxes and stacks pallets to be shipped out for customers. Cleans and organizes areas of the facility using common lawn and garden tools. Assists with picking and operation of the sorting system. Maintain an organized and clean sort system and improve housekeeping at the general facility. Know and keep the organization’s core values. Responsible for maintaining a safe work culture.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock
Break down gaylord boxes for reuse.
Stacks pallets for reuse.
Bands together pallets and gaylord boxes as needed for customers.
Cleans sort system before and after production time.
Identify and recover commodities as per production needs of the sort line operation.
Performs general housekeeping of the plant facility.
Supports maintenance team with general equipment housekeeping.
Active participation in Health and Safety Programs.
Perform all the following functions in accordance with Smurfit Westrock safety practices JHA’s, policies, and procedures. Report all safety related issues in accordance with our reporting policy.
Performs other general job duties as needed.
What you need to succeed
Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must comply with PPE policy.
Must be able to ascend and descend stairs to access workstation.
Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
