School Traffic Guard

School Traffic Guard – Part‑time The City of Rahway, Police Department Traffic Bureau is recruiting a part‑time School Traffic Guard. Duties include a variety of routine, repetitive, non‑complex tasks which involve assisting and protecting children at intersections; notifying proper authorities in cases requiring police action or medical attention; responding to complaints and inquiries from the public; and other job duties outlined in and not limited to the Civil Service Commission title School Traffic Guard (info.csc.nj.gov/jobspec/03125.htm). Applicants must also maintain and uphold all policies and procedures; represent the City in a professional and courteous manner; maintain a neat and clean appearance; and remain in uniform during scheduled shifts. Job qualifications are ability to read and write English, follow direction – both oral and written, have no convictions of any offense which would make candidate unfit to perform such duties; ability to work a flexible schedule and in varying weather conditions.
