Job Summary
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a motivated Network Controller to join our team on at Scott AFB, IL. This role involves providing 24/7 global DoD Information Network (DoDIN) operations and incident management support. You will work on critical missions including JRSS enterprise systems, SATCOM Gateway Services, and other key DoD network services to ensure secure and reliable communications for warfighters and national leaders.
Location Scott AFB, IL or Hill AFB, UT
Clearance Requirement Active Secret (must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret)
Responsibilities
Monitor and resolve network issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques and documentation.
Utilize router commands, loops, alarms, and other tools to diagnose and repair circuit problems.
Operate network monitoring tools to track performance and elevate issues as needed.
Create and maintain incident tickets in Remedy for accurate documentation and resolution tracking.
Troubleshoot networking technologies on a live, global network environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous network availability and security.
Qualifications
3+ years of relevant experience; additional hands‑on experience may substitute for formal education.
Must hold a DoD‑8570 IAT Level 2 certification (such as Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start.
Ability to work in a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment.
Familiarity with one or more areas such as alarm monitoring, fault isolation, LAN support, and performance analysis.
Proficiency with networking hardware and technologies, including routers, switches, encryption devices, and platforms like Cisco, Juniper, DWDM, and optical switching systems.
Solid understanding of network architectures and topologies, including both transport and IP‑based networks.
Active Secret clearance required, with eligibility to upgrade to Top Secret.
Compensation
Pay Range: $65,000-$85,000 (depending on experience)
