What We Need Corpay is currently seeking a Shared Services Senior Accountant in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will be an instrumental component in the company's Accounting Department and regularly collaborate with Divisional & Business Team Leadership, Treasury, and Divisional Controllers.
Role Responsibilities
Assist with month-end close activities, including timely preparation of journal entries for expenses, balancing of inter-company activity, expense accruals and adherence with close calendar.
Ensure accurate capitalization of fixed assets and lease accounting, as assigned.
Assist in preparing financial reports providing accurate and timely information to support decision‑making processes, as assigned.
Record depreciation expenses for fixed assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare, analyze and investigate discrepancies for account reconciliations in BlackLine a timely manner for cash and liability accounts, intercompany, leases, fixed assets and others, as assigned.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
Support internal and external audit queries to ensure a clean and timely year end audit for all areas of responsibility.
Partnering with and being a liaison with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives.
Supporting ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting requests related to revenue, providing insights and recommendations to management and participating in special projects and performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA track preferred.
3+ years of previous experience in accounting roles preferably obtained in a large or complex organization with large volume of activity – public accounting experience a plus.
Inter‑company experience highly desirable.
Interest in process improvement and IT system implementation projects.
Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well‑developed problem‑solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self‑directed and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization when necessary.
Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and up‑to‑date skills in ERP, EPM and DB systems.
Demonstrated background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
Ability to work well under pressure, multi‑task, and meet deadlines timely and accurate in a fast‑paced environment.
Hands‑on, detail‑oriented individual with the ability to see the big picture.
Desire to work in a complex, large‑scale accounting and finance environment.
The right person will be ambitious, flexible, and has a desire to learn and grow professionally.
