Position Summary:
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation. This role plays a key part in supporting the overall health, satisfaction, and well-being of residents through quality meal service.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
Ensure all meals are prepared on schedule and served at proper temperatures.
Follow portion control and presentation standards to ensure consistency and minimize waste.
Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
Assist with receiving and storing food supplies, ensuring proper rotation and inventory control.
Communicate with dietary staff and leadership regarding resident needs, menu changes, or special requests.
Support compliance with state, local, and facility regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or institutional setting.
Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification a plus).
Ability to follow recipes and diet orders accurately.
Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment and handle kitchen equipment safely.
