Currently, we are looking to add a
Scientist I - Chemistry Quality Control Supervisor
to the team:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee and perform analytical testing, including HPLC, MS, NMR, TLC and other bench chemistry tests, to ensure the quality of Cayman’s chemistry catalog products
Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate failed batches and communicate results to responsible managers in a timely manner
Transfer published and previously developed methods to the Chemistry Quality department for repeat batch testing
Collaborate with Technical Support on product quality inquiries and coordinate additional product testing with analytical labs to resolve issues
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instrumentation including HPLC, MS, and spectroscopy instruments
Organize and manage work for Chemistry Quality testing staff including prioritization of tasks, training, development, and performance management
Establish robust quality control workflows and identify areas for improvement, including modernization of methods and instrumentation and digitization of workflows, to effectively support high volume submissions to the group
Work with manager to align priorities to Analytical Chemistry Division goals and provide regular updates on quality control metrics and status of backordered products
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field
Experience: 8 years (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), 0 years (with PhD) experience in analytical testing and instrumentation
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Sharepoint, data acquisition software (Chemstation, Chromeleon, etc.)
Solid knowledge of analytical chemistry instrumentation, methodology, and interpretation of test results (HPLC, MS, NMR, TLC, etc.)
Onsite Role – Must be available to work full time on-site in Ann Arbor
