Come Join an Inclusive Team The Process Specialist is accountable for providing technical support and daily coordination of plant operating activities. The individual prioritizes daily production activities for the process unit, defines operational problems, and promotes solutions.

In addition, the Process Specialist prioritizes maintenance issues in the unit and provides feedback and guidance to the Production Maintenance Coordinator. The role focuses on Operations/Maintenance priorities, plant reliability, quality, production, safety, and environmental compliance, driving systemic improvements with supervisors and technicians.

To perform effectively, the individual must possess a thorough technical understanding of the Clinton site Olefins unit, strong leadership, and interpersonal skills. The position supports the 24/7, 365‑day shift organization.

A Day in the Life

Assist the FLS in directing daily activities in the process units and directly supervise day technicians in the OSBL area.

Interface with the Business Group, Manufacturing, and Production planning to discuss plant operation, production, and business needs.

Audit the production unit daily and provide assistance to Operations personnel to maximize quality, yield, reliability, and production rate.

Coordinate equipment outages to optimize timing, scope, downtime, and cost.

Set unit maintenance priorities and work with the PMC and Maintenance Supervision to accomplish daily maintenance initiatives.

Determine root causes and provide technical solutions to support Operational and Maintenance goals for unit quality, reliability, and production rates.

Work closely with Production/Process Engineers to solve operational issues.

Champion Operating Discipline: audit round sheets, logs, and provide feedback to FLS and technicians.

Ensure unit housekeeping standards are maintained.

Assist operating technicians in developing and approving startup/shutdown procedures and evaluate/Improve existing procedures.

Ensure Operating Manuals, SOPs, Normal Operating Ranges, and Safe Operating Conditions are accurate, supporting Plant Process Safety Management.

Guide the Training Department by emphasizing key operating practices and participating in formal training.

Assist in planning the turnaround schedule scope of work in the unit and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Mentor new Production and Process engineers and new operating technicians.

Promote plant safety, participate in plant safety programs, Process Hazard Analyses, and Incident Investigations.

Assist in Management of Change processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.

You Bring This Value

Typically 7–15 years of progressively responsible experience in plant operations.

Thorough technical understanding of plant chemical processes and unit operations.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Highly motivated and solution-oriented.

Supports the 24/7, 365‑day shift organization.

Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Olefins technology.
