Student Assistant to the Athletic Training Facility
Reports to:
Sports Medicine Director
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:
A Student Assistant to the Athletic Training Facility will assist the Staff Athletic Trainers in daily operations of the Athletic Training Facility. The Student Assistant works under the supervision of the Sports Medicine Director and assists in the care of student athletes competing in the University’s athletic programs and the Athletic Training facility. Our student assistants are responsible for assisting the certified athletic trainers in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries within the University’s comprehensive sports medicine program. The student assistant will assist in daily needs of the Athletic Training facility to include but not limited to cleaning the facility, collecting and filing paperwork on the student‑athletes, and ensuring that the facility is stocked for practices and games. A Student Assistant will follow all Federal, State, and NAIA laws, rules, regulations, and ethical standards that apply.
Under the direct supervision of the Sports Medicine Director
Part Time Temporary
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Assist with the prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses
Assist with the treatment/rehabilitation of athletic injuries
Assist with the athletic training administrative duties
Assist with filing insurance claims and paperwork
Assist with daily cleaning and stocking of the Athletic Training facilities
Learn how to refer and set up injured athletes to the appropriate provider
Other duties as assigned by the Sports Medicine Director
