The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise job scheduling and automation solutions that enable critical business operations.
This role focuses on Automic Automation Engine and similar platforms within complex, large-scale environments, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, analyze, test, debug, and implement Automic workflows supporting mission-critical business processes.
Review and optimize existing workflows to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
Support the migration of workflows from legacy on-premises environments to cloud platforms.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate job scheduling workflows with ServiceNow and monitoring tools.
Diagnose and resolve system and process issues of varying complexity using structured troubleshooting methodologies.
Document workflows, processes, and configurations to ensure consistency, compliance, and maintainability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in enterprise scheduling and automation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Automic Automation Engine or other enterprise job scheduling tools (e.g., JAMS) in an enterprise environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.
Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
Strong understanding of operating system concepts and high-level infrastructure architecture.
Experience working with ticketing and collaboration tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently and take initiative.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an automation-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior technology experience in maritime or transportation-related environments.
Advanced expertise in Windows and Linux system administration.
Experience with Active Directory user and access management.
Proficiency in PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.
Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
Exposure to large-scale environments with multiple Automic instances.
