Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, United States, 32082
TPC Sawgrass - Home of THE PLAYERS Championship
TPC Sawgrass is seeking an experienced, people-first Equipment Manager to lead our equipment maintenance operation at one of the most visible venues in golf — the home of THE PLAYERS Championship and PGA TOUR tournament golf.
This is not a wrench-only role. We are looking for a proven team leader who takes pride in developing people, setting standards, and running a world-class operation. You will lead a team of five skilled technicians, manage a large, diverse equipment fleet, and play a critical role in preparing championship-level playing conditions for a global audience.
Why This Role Is Different
Lead a Team – Directly manage and develop a team of technicians, setting expectations, mentoring talent, and building a strong culture of accountability and pride.
World-Class Stage – Work daily on the most recognizable course in tournament golf, supporting THE PLAYERS Championship and other elite events.
Scale & Complexity – Oversee a large, modern fleet and a full-service maintenance facility with significant operational responsibility.
True Leadership Seat – Partner closely with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations on budgeting, fleet strategy, facility planning, and long-term improvements.
Career Growth – This role offers exceptional professional development, exposure to PGA TOUR operations, and advancement opportunities within a globally respected organization.
Who We’re Looking For
A seasoned Equipment Manager with strong mechanical expertise and prior supervisory experience
Someone who leads from the front, communicates well, and builds trust with technicians and golf course leadership
Experience preparing equipment for tournament or championship-level conditions is highly valued
A professional who takes pride in organization, standards, safety, and continuous improvement
If you are looking to move beyond just maintaining equipment — and instead lead people, influence operations, and be part of a championship team with global visibility — this is a rare opportunity to do just that.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of general business practices as applied to golf course operations practices and procedures.
Thorough working knowledge of turf equipment maintenance and repair operations and procedures as would normally be acquired through a secondary education or trades training plus a minimum of 10 years’ experience as an equipment manager or equivalent job.
Strong mechanical skills with thorough knowledge of golf course equipment, hydraulic and electrical systems, gasoline and diesel engine operation, repair and maintenance, inventory management, golf course equipment mower setup, reel maintenance and setup, and familiarity with specialized golf course equipment such as aerifiers, verticutters etc.
Prior experience with preparing golf course equipment for a professional golf tournament preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, prior supervisory experience required.
