Overview
Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, paramedics and nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed‑wing emergency medical transportation.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate adequate skill in all areas required of a Medi-Car driver, including the ability to move a wheelchair up and down stairs, in and out of the Medi-Car.
Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in training as a Medi-Car driver.
Provide safe transportation, accurately discerning street names through map reading, correctly distinguishing house numbers and addresses of business locations in the most expedient manner.
Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, monitor all fluid levels and gauges, and report all mechanical problems with the vehicle immediately.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency.
Successfully passed the company-required lifting test, map test, and interview process.
Functional communication and writing in English.
Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.

Salary Range USD $17.00 – $21.00 per hour, rates offered based on years of experience and full-time scheduled templates. Additional earnings via bi-weekly bonus up to $4.00 per hour.
