Position Overview The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and work areas. Duties include refilling supplies, sanitizing equipment, and making beds. The role typically involves vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Make beds.
Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
Replenish bathroom supplies.
Replace light bulbs.
Abide by regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
Report to management for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
Know and comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
