Elevator Systems Integration Specialist
Knaq Inc., Los Angeles, California, United States, 90079
Who We Are
Knaq builds IoT monitoring technology for a range of industrial equipment that combines custom-built hardware with cloud-based analytics and AI. Our hardware sends real-time data to cloud-based infrastructure that presents live equipment information, alerting, and predictive analytics.
We’re a small, tight-knit team passionate about our work and our customers. We rally around the following four values: 1. Effort: work hard and take things personally. 2. Thoroughness: obsess over the details. 3. Resourcefulness: find solutions to difficult problems. 4. Initiative: chase new ideas with fervor and contribute eagerly to the mission.
Who You Are We are looking for a Systems Integration Specialist to lead the deployment of our devices across a diverse fleet of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways at a major institution in Los Angeles. This role is the critical link between our hardware and the physical machines; you will be responsible for tapping into equipment controllers and ensuring our sensors are accurately capturing the data that powers our platforms.
This is a full-time, W2 position based in Los Angeles, CA, paying $75/hr. This role operates on a permanent night shift (Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) to facilitate work during low-traffic hours at the institution.
What You'll Do
Hardware Installation: Mount and configure Knaq IoT devices on a variety of elevator and escalator makes/models.
Electrical Integration: Tap into controller wiring to monitor necessary data points.
Diagram Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret complex wiring diagrams for a wide range of controller types (non-proprietary and OEM).
Collaboration: Coordinate with institutional mechanics to safely access pits, tops of cars, and machine rooms.
Quality Control: Test and verify data transmission from the sensor to the Knaq platform before moving to the next unit.
What You Bring
Technical Proficiency: Strong background in electrical systems. You must be comfortable and competent at reading wiring diagrams and tapping into controllers.
Conveyance Experience: Previous experience working with elevators (traction/hydraulic) and escalators is required. While a CCCM license is not required, you must possess the safety knowledge and technical vocabulary of the industry.
Generalist Mindset: Ability to work across various brands (Otis, Kone, Schindler, Thyssenkrupp, etc.) rather than specializing in just one.
Reliability: This is a mission-critical rollout. Consistency for the 11 PM – 7 AM shift is non-negotiable.
