Join Purdue University Fort Wayne: We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site,
Senior Administrative Assistant
in the School of Music. This position provides high level administrative support to the Director of the School of Music. The pay for this position is $17.50/hr.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile School of Music accounts to ensure accurate transfers and payments
Track payments for expenditures and prepare reports for the Director.
Compile financial data to prepare budget projections.
Manage purchasing including processing P-card transactions, payee certifications, direct invoice vouchers, purchase requests, and petty cash.
Screen calls and visitors; coordinate Director’s correspondence, meeting scheduling, and reports.
Coordinate school secretary’s assignments to ensure quality and timeliness of work; provide input on annual evaluation.
Order music for ensembles
Order office supplies
Arrange lodging and receive/process paperwork for guest artists.
Assist search committees with recruitment activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED.
Three or more years in general office experience required.
Knowledge of budgeting, hiring practices, contracts, and student financial aid.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in academic setting.
