Job Description
Located off the beautiful Oregon Coast, Adventist Health Tillamook has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1950. Job Summary
Provides direct behavioral support to patients at risk of harm to self or others, due to a mental illness or inability to care for self, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and leadership. Maintains proper supervision of patients in line of sight, as a room sitter, or one‑on‑one. Identifies behavior and statements that require intervention by the psychiatric staff.
Job Requirements
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Experience in direct patient supervision: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
Essential Functions
Monitors patients on involuntary holds initiated by law enforcement or court order and patients deemed a suicide risk, as determined by the provider.
Monitors patients who need fall protection, are in a state of confusion and/or agitation and at risk of self‑harm e.g., wandering.
Monitors patients who are deemed at risk of hurting themselves by interference of therapeutic equipment.
Assists patient with activities of daily living within their scope of practice. Monitors any changes in behavior and reports the RN or provider.
Follows safety protocols and infection control policies.
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
