Job Summary The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and assisting with cleanliness of guest floors, hallways, public areas, and restrooms in the hotel by performing the duties outlined below. Other duties may be assigned as needed within the department.

Essential Functions
Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens.
Must be able to clean multiple rooms daily – including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and fixtures.
Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
Cleans corridors and stairways.
Sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors.
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs.
Scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls, and bathroom fan.
Completes a quality check on the television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors.
Removes any items left behind from room and takes them to Lost and Found and follows proper hotel procedure.
Reports any maintenance‑related problems to the maintenance department through the proper communication channels.
Assumes responsibility for careful use of supplies and equipment issued for carrying out job responsibilities.
Proper uniform must be worn at all times.
Achieves a score of 90% or higher on room inspections.
Provides a pleasant greeting to each guest.
Has thorough knowledge of all in‑house products along with local area information to assist customers when needed.
Displays proper organizational skills when stocking cart and timely cart stocking after completing rooms.
Displays team effort in keeping the commercial area clean and neat.
Responds to customer needs for housekeeping supplies within 10 minutes.
Uses guests’ names upon entering an occupied room.
Ensures all vacant rooms are checked daily to confirm correct status.
Maintains supply room in a clean, neat, and organized state.
Displays a team attitude and assists co‑workers when needed.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to understand, read, write and speak basic English and communicate with Team Members and Guests.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Ability to work flexible shifts.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently required to walk, climb, or balance, and talk or hear.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Qualification Standards
Professional and energetic.
High school education or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: four (4) to six (6) months Housekeeping experience or training preferred, but not required.
