Summary Provides friendly, excellent service to all guests. Serves meals and/or beverages to patrons in dining establishment, lounge, showroom, banquet hall, pool, hotel room or gaming floor, wherever assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time.

Greets guests, presents menu, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and beverages.

Writes order on check or memorizes it.

Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.

Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving, if required.

Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.

Acts immediately on all customer comments to ensure that corrections are made.

Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier.

Sets up and supplies the beverage area with clean glassware, utensils, condiments and paper supplies if necessary.

Removes soiled glassware and utensils from table and counter tops.

Makes coffee as needed.

Adds ice and changes soft drink containers.

Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.

Responsible for renewal of Maricopa County Food Handlers Card.

Ensures designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinner ware and other items used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, liquid on the floor, etc.).

Attends bi-annual Arizona state liquor law training.

When performing bottle service, properly executes service according to mandated steps of service.

Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.

Responsible for following the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or employees, as defined by PCI.

Additional Responsibilities

Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.

Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Room Service Server is not required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Title 31 under the Code of Federal Regulations.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; previous serving experience required; related experience in a medium to high volume restaurant strongly preferred. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 required. Must have working knowledge using electronic point of sale (POS) systems.

Food and Beverage Servers must be at least 19 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages with meals. Beverage (cocktail) and Pool Servers must be at least 21 years of age.

Additional required experience at Orange Sky Outlet for Fine Dining Server: Must have 1–2 years of experience in a higher-end casual or mid-tier restaurant as a food server.

Additional Required Experience For Banquet Server Must have previous experience in banquet, catering, or restaurant environment with 3-5 years of experience required as a banquet server in a hotel, resort, or country club.

Additional Required Experience For Room Service Server Basic PC skills are required as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel). Experience using InfoGenesis a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handlers Card. Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification a plus.
