MFS Supply
A Project Estimator/ Kitchen Design is responsible for coordinating takeoffs, design services and estimating the cost of products and install services across our cabinet lines. Project types include single family/multi-family residential new construction and single family/multi-family residential renovation work. This role emphasizes strong communication and relationship-building skills, as the estimator will interact with various stakeholders including project managers, sales team, architects, and installation services.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Create takeoffs and help drive requirements for design
Generate cabinetry installation drawings and provide detailed installation instructions for field use.
Establish cost savings opportunities and installation services costs for job quoting
Organize and maintain project information throughout the duration of a project, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Communicate with project managers, jobsite supervisors, finish carpenters, architects/designers, and other subcontractors as needed.
Support sales and estimating staff by providing knowledge of cabinetry materials.
Occasional field verifications, record measurements, and review for possible issues with cabinetry layouts.
Coordinate with countertop shop on appropriate measures and designs for appropriate fabrication
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of the construction industry and ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Previous estimating experience or product knowledge of cabinetry preferred.
Experience with design software, such as 20/20.
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Office 365, specifically Excel.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to administrative problems.
Strong work ethic and willingness to work extra hours when needed.
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with NetSuite preferred.
Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture courses/degree preferred.
Knowledge of value engineering and cabinet installation services preferred
