Transportation Driver

to join our award-winning community! This position is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of resident to various individual and group activities/functions, medical appointments, and the complimentary shopping schedule. This role also includes assisting residents in and out of company vehicles, assisting with occasional Life Enrichment outings, ensuring timely arrivals, and providing courteous service. Additionally the Driver manages the organization and distribution of incoming packages for residents and staff across the community. Assists residents on and off bus/van, tracking attendance and coordinating equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes, etc.). Conducts a thorough safety inspection of the assigned vehicle (car or bus) prior to each trip. Accurately documents vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all transportation services. Maintains the cleanliness of all vehicles, both interior and exterior; promptly reports to the Transportation Supervisor when professional cleaning is required. Transports vehicles to designated service locations for routine preventive maintenance as scheduled by the supervisor. Immediately reports any vehicle malfunctions or necessary repairs to the supervisor. Ensures vehicles are fueled and ready for daily scheduled transportation. Promptly communicates any resident concerns, issues, or incidents to the supervisor; call 911 in case of emergency. Load groceries and other purchased items into car/bus/van. Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum six (6) months experience as a bus/van driver required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to work individually and with a team. Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with the residents at all times. Must have a current valid IL driver's license and a good driving record. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be conducted upon hire and annually thereafter. Must be able to interpret and follow map directions. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to do the following:

Sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day. Stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule and keep vehicles clean. Lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries.

May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time. Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
