Role Summary The Manager, Event Operations & Food Services is responsible for the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and financial management of events, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating internal teams and external vendors. This role ensures seamless event delivery, exceptional guest experiences, strong fiscal oversight, and operational alignment across departments.
Core Job Functions Event Planning & Client Management
Serve as the primary liaison for clients from inquiry through post‑event evaluation
Translate client objectives, preferences, and budgets into customized event proposals and execution plans
Manage multiple client engagements concurrently while ensuring service excellence and expectation alignment
Event Operations & Execution
Direct on‑site event execution, ensuring all details are properly planned, communicated, and delivered
Provide real‑time support during events to address guest needs and last‑minute adjustments
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Collaborate with internal departments, including Event Operations, Catering, Facilities, Security, Janitorial, and A/V to ensure seamless service delivery
Plan and lead pre‑production and post‑production meetings to align stakeholders on scope, timelines, and responsibilities
Source, negotiate, and manage external vendors (e.g., entertainment, florists, photographers)
Coordinate with Facilities to secure Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and ensure all required documentation is on file
Maintain strong vendor relationships to support quality, efficiency, and service standards
Catering & Food Service Oversight
Partner with culinary teams to develop custom menus and beverage programs aligned with client needs
Ensure food and beverage service aligns with event timelines, quality standards, and guest expectations
Budget, Billing & Financial Management
Develop, track, and manage event budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accuracy
Prepare detailed cost estimates, margin projections, and post‑event financial reports
Administer change orders and assist clients with cost transparency
Process internal invoices, billing documentation, and financial coding accurately and on time
Conduct post‑event evaluations, collect client feedback, and identify opportunities for enhancement
Apply insights to improve future event execution and client satisfaction
Additional Responsibilities
Contribute creative ideas and innovative concepts to enhance event experiences
Support departmental financial goals through efficiency improvements and vendor optimization
Mentor or support team members as needed during complex or high‑volume event periods

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field
Seven or more years of experience in hospitality, events, or venue operations
Location: 1515 Broadway, NY & 524 W. 57th Street, NY
Work Model: Fully Onsite (5 Days/Week)
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (adjusted for event days; early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required)
Physical Requirement: Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 75,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
