Description IGT is seeking a highly skilled and creative Principal Artist I to lead the visual execution of assigned game content. This role is ideal for a senior-level artist with strong creative instincts, deep slot-game experience, and the ability to independently own art deliverables from concept through final production. The Principal Artist I plays a key role in shaping visual quality, supporting product vision, and mentoring team members while collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners.
What Will You Be Doing?
Own and execute all art-related aspects of assigned content with minimal supervision, including:
Graphic design layouts
Logos and typography
2D and 3D art and animation
Character development
Concept art and visual ideation
Create and enhance art, design, and graphics that align with overall product strategy and creative vision.
Actively seek and incorporate feedback while consistently meeting production deadlines.
Contribute to and develop process improvement initiatives that positively impact art, design, and development workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to define deliverables, schedules, and creative expectations.
Create high-quality digital assets that can be shared across teams, including templates, lighting setups, and special effects.
Maintain a strong understanding of IGT products and actively stay current with industry trends, best practices, and visual styles.
Participate in establishing and supporting creative direction, ensuring alignment with product vision and technical constraints.
Assist with coordinating team responsibilities and, when needed, support internal training initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise for the job: Education
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, 2D Animation, Motion Graphics, or a related discipline preferred OR equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Job Knowledge & Experience
4–6 years of professional industry experience with strong ownership of art deliverables.
Advanced portfolio showcasing high-quality 2D and/or 3D work, multiple visual styles, and strong attention to detail.
Proven expertise in illustration, graphic design, animation, and generalist art skills; slot game experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of animation principles, character development, and visual storytelling.
Solid knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation pipelines.
Demonstrated understanding of product design, user psychology, and game mechanics.
Computer & Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator (vector workflows).
Experience with game production tools and pipelines, including Unity, Spine, Painter, and animation workflows.
Strong traditional art foundation, including drawing, composition, typography, graphic design, UX, and animation.
Proficiency with asset management tools and collaborative production environments.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard product development tools.

That’s why the compensation range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, with room to go higher or lower depending on the full picture.
