This is an 18-24 month rotational programme available in London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. The successful hires will have the opportunity to work across multiple (up to six) technology teams in their relevant office. The variety of this programme will enable you to build a strong foundation and gain exposure to different technologies, development styles, and areas of our business.

The programme takes your input into account; combining your interests with areas where your contribution will make the most impact.

The programme includes highly personalised mentoring, regular seminars with senior managers and key staff, social events and opportunities to participate in the firm’s charitable activities.

At any time, you’ll be working on one or two projects, with direct business impact, while supervised by a supportive team that values open communication.

Benchmarking and onboarding a high performance distributed database

Building developer tooling to improve safety in stream processing systems

Writing data pipelines that feed into systematic trading models

Creating a platform to provide insights into and improve trade optimisation & performance

Redesigning the core library used for the Technology Team’s CI/CD platform

Progression at Marshall Wace The rotational format of our program allows you to explore various roles within the Technology team before determining the best fit for you. This may include both SWE and SRE teams. Upon completing your rotations, you have the flexibility to advance to the team that aligns most with your interests and strengths.

After completing the program There is no predetermined ladder for you to climb. Instead, your personal growth may involve taking on more challenging projects, mentoring a team or new hires, or even pursuing opportunities for international assignments. Your individual development path is open for exploration, and you can collaborate with your management to shape what your future growth looks like.

Technology is at our core As a technology graduate, this is a chance to accelerate your skill set and gain invaluable real‑world experience. You will be continually challenged to learn new skills, work on novel tasks, and push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Who do we want? We’re looking for people that want to make the right start in their careers. We want people who have a passion for technology and who like to do things differently.

While a Computer Science degree is not a requirement, we are looking for candidates who have actively honed their technical and programming skills. This could include participation in internship programs, hackathons, or personal projects pursued in their spare time.

We also really believe that the right person is more than just a technical expert. We place real value on team‑working, entrepreneurialism and strong communication skills. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about collaborating with colleagues across the organization and are proactive in proposing fresh ideas.
