Job Overview
The
EV Charging Station Technician
is responsible for on‑site repair and maintenance of EV charging stations within a specific geographic region of Los Angeles area. In essence a dedicated EV Technician for a strategic account.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring site safety
Performing electrical system maintenance and repairs
Preparing site field reports
Fulfilling other duties as required to maintain and operate the site according to contractual requirements
Delivering technical subject matter expertise and thoughtful de‑escalation with accurate diagnostics in accordance with eMobility standards/MSAs/SLAs‑fixing the customer first, then fixing the issue right the first time.
Following detailed repair manuals, service bulletins, and technical information, and meeting with clients upon service completion.
Conducting proper, thorough, and timely documentation of related work orders, including all parts and warranty records, and delivering a high customer service closed‑loop process with clients during each service visit.
Effectively communicating with customers' Network Services provider to ensure the scope of work has been completed and equipment is back to normal operating conditions, with both predictive analysis and preventive maintenance.
Performing OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions to a broad range of equipment, ranging from Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers, including planned maintenance.
Performing equipment testing, including insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
Troubleshooting system performance issues and isolating ground faults.
Collaborating with the eMobility Service team to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and optimize routes.
Conducting site safety assessments, identifying safety hazards, and completing JHA, LOTO, and other safety‑related documentation as per OSHA and site‑specific requirements.
Generating professional service‑specific reports using a work order system for customer presentation.
Being available for planned and unplanned overtime and emergency response work.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical/electronic training.
Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Technical knowledge of EV chargers and other applicable power electronics is preferred but not required.
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements, including LOTO, Arc Flash, JHA/JSA, etc.
Valid state driver's license.
Salesforce experience is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
Understanding of AC/DC Conversions/Meters and Scopes and Circuit Boards.
Experience working with Charging stations from manufacturers (ABB, Alpitronic, Chargepoint, Delta, Helio, Siemens).
Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
Demonstrated customer service communication skills coupled with technical aptitude.
Tech‑savvy with a passion for learning innovative technologies that transform the industry.
Deep understanding of eMobility technologies.
A “can‑do” attitude to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Possess a strong work ethic, be a self‑starter, and work with little to no supervision.
Demonstrates safe work practices and quality orientation.
Able to work within a team atmosphere.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong problem‑solving and learning skills.
Working Conditions
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
Ability to travel up to 25% domestically throughout North America.
This position is assigned to a geographic metro area (Los Angeles, CA) on occasional travel outside the area to support training and other customers as necessary.
Pay $45.00 – $55.00
