Urologist (MD/DO) Position Summary The Urologist provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with diseases and disorders of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and procedural management of urologic conditions, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with urologic conditions affecting the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive organs

Diagnose and treat conditions such as urinary tract obstruction, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary incontinence, infections, and urologic malignancies

Perform urologic surgical and minimally invasive procedures consistent with training and privileges

Provide medical management and follow-up care for acute and chronic urologic conditions

Perform and interpret diagnostic studies including cystoscopy, urodynamic testing, and imaging as applicable

Provide inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinic care

Collaborate with primary care providers, oncology, nephrology, radiology, and other specialists

Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives

Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or clinical staff as applicable

Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

Completion of an accredited urology residency program

Fellowship training in a urologic subspecialty preferred but not required

Board-eligible or board-certified in Urology

Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure

DEA registration or eligibility

Ability to manage complex and chronic urologic conditions

Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care

Work Environment

Outpatient urology clinics, hospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient units

Call coverage as determined by practice or service needs

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures and surgeries

Manual dexterity for surgical and endoscopic techniques

Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and operative care

Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
