The University of Maryland is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to serve as a Registrar Project Lead to support the institution’s Workday Student system implementation. This position is responsible for reviewing current-state documentation and creating future-state
process documentation directly related to registrar operations, and assisting with a gap analysis for registrar-owned functional areas such as academic records, curriculum, registration, course scheduling, grading, transcripts, degree progress, and student compliance. Working closely with Registrar staff, the incumbent will capture detailed process workflows, configuration decisions, and operational procedures to ensure the Office of the Registrar has accurate and consistent documentation for post-go-live operations.This position may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of university services.Essential Duty/Responsibility 1:* Percentage: 70%* Document operational procedures and quick-reference guides to support Registrar staff for cutover and post-go-live.* Develop future-state workflows aligned with Workday Student system features, business process framework, academic structure, and configuration decisions. Create standardized templates for workflows, decision logs, and procedural narratives within the Registrar domain.Essential Duty/Responsibility 2:* Percentage: 20%* Review current business processes within the Registrar’s functional areas. Perform gap analyses of current systems functionalities in comparison to the Workday Student system.Essential Duty/Responsibility 3:* Percentage: 10%* Create and manage a decision tracker as configuration evolves.**Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s degree required.* Working knowledge of information systems (e.g. homegrown systems, Workday Student, Banner, PeopleSoft)* Experience with documenting business processes* Experience with documentation tools (e.g. Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, Confluence, etc.)* At least two years of professional experience in higher education preferred**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*** Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under tight timelines.* Understanding of higher-education registrar functions, policies, compliance requirements, and interdependencies.* Ability to translate complex information system configuration details into clear, operational documentation.* Excellent communication (interpersonal, telephone, and writing), interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills* Demonstrated self-motivation and personal skills necessary to interact with university constituents and co-workers professionally and courteously.Required Application Materials:Please submit a cover letter, résumé, and the names and contact information of three professional referencesPosting Close Date: February 1, 2026 **Compensation**: $50 per hour# **Minimum Qualifications**Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
