Position Summary Tuuci is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Screen Printing Manager to lead and execute the Company’s internal branding and screen printing operations. This role is both strategic and technical in nature and is designed for a “player-coach” who thrives in a production environment while maintaining operational oversight.
The Screen Printing Manager will be responsible for managing daily print operations, supervising a small team of technicians, and serving as the primary technical authority for screen printing equipment, pre-press processes, and print quality. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all branded components applied to Tuuci’s marine-grade shade structures meet the Company’s rigorous standards for durability, precision, and aesthetic excellence.
The Screen Printing Manager position is based in Miami, FL and reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities Department Set-Up & Technical Strategy
Evaluate production requirements and specify appropriate screen printing equipment, including presses, dryers, exposure units, and related consumables suitable for marine-grade fabrics and coated metals
Lead the purchasing, installation, calibration, and commissioning of new screen printing equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues to minimize downtime
Research, test, and validate ink systems to ensure proper adhesion, UV resistance, and longevity on technical substrates
Production & Operations Management
Actively participate in daily production activities, including press operation, ink mixing, screen reclaiming, and setup
Manage daily and weekly production schedules to support sales orders and project timelines
Enforce quality standards related to color accuracy, registration, consistency, and print durability
Oversee inventory levels for inks, emulsions, screens, solvents, and supplies; initiate reorders as needed
Pre-Press & Graphic Design
Review and evaluate client-provided artwork for print feasibility and production readiness
Repair, adjust, and optimize vector files, including typography, line weights, layers, and color separations
Prepare digital proofs for approval and generate film positives for screen exposure
Maintain organized archives of artwork, films, and screens to support repeat production
Leadership, Safety & Continuous Improvement
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 3–4 screen printing technicians
Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, enhance print consistency, and increase operational efficiency
Ideal Qualifications & Experience Primary
5+ years of hands-on industrial screen printing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
Strong technical knowledge of screen printing processes, mesh selection, emulsions, inks, and substrates
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
Demonstrated ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and diagnose mechanical or electrical issues
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred
Experience printing on technical or marine-grade fabrics such as acrylics, canvas, PVC, or coated metals
Background in manufacturing, industrial, or architectural product environments rather than high-volume garment printing
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods on a production floor
Ability to lift and maneuver screens, ink containers, and fabric rolls up to 50 lbs
Manual dexterity required for machinery adjustments, screen setup, and detailed pre-press work
