to join our team and lead the charge in training future lifesavers.
As a
Lifeguard Instructor , you'll not only teach lifesaving skills - you'll instill confidence, promote water safety, and serve as a role model for both new and experienced aquatics professionals.
What You'll Do
Teach & Certify:
Deliver engaging, high-quality American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid classes in accordance with ARC standards.
Prep Like a Pro:
Coordinate and organize all course logistics - from setup and supplies to student materials and certifications.
Inspire Safety:
Motivate and mentor lifeguard candidates to take water safety seriously and develop the skills to respond to emergencies with confidence.
Assess & Coach:
Evaluate participant performance, provide constructive feedback, and uphold ARC evaluation criteria for passing.
Stay Current:
Maintain up-to-date ARC Instructor credentials and participate in professional development opportunities when available.
Collaborate:
Work closely with aquatics leadership, on-site teams, and other instructors to create a seamless, professional training experience.
What You Bring
Required:
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification
Preferred:
Additional instructor certifications (e.g., CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, First Aid, Water Safety Instructor)
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Ability to engage, motivate, and lead diverse groups of learners
Confidence in the water and comfort, demonstrating physical skills
Reliability, professionalism, and an upbeat, safety-first attitude
Schedule & Availability
Flexible schedule required - including evenings and weekends as classes demand
Seasonal increases in course demand (spring/summer)
