POSITION SUMMARY: GCX has been a provider of medical instruments and IT mounting solutions for the healthcare industry since 1971. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all production operations within a sheet metal fabrication and assembly environment, supporting critical products for acute care healthcare facilities. This role drives safe, efficient, and scalable manufacturing performance through disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision‑making.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on manufacturing leader with strong technical expertise in metal fabrication, robotics, and powder coating, combined with a proven ability to improve throughput, cost, quality, and delivery through KPI management and Lean manufacturing principles. This role serves as a key change agent, fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Operational & Plant Leadership

Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations across sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, finishing, powder coating, and assembly.

Ensure production plans are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule to meet customer demand and business objectives.

Develop, coach, and lead a high‑performing manufacturing team, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.

Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve production challenges, support new product introductions, and improve overall plant performance.

Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across all manufacturing areas.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Management

Define, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity (SQDCP).

Drive plant‑wide continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing tools, Kaizen events, 5S, and standard work.

Identify and eliminate waste, constraints, and process variation to improve throughput, reduce cost, and increase operational efficiency.

Implement standardized processes, visual management systems, and performance dashboards to support consistent execution and problem‑solving at all levels.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to ensure sustainable improvements.

Apply hands‑on manufacturing expertise to troubleshoot equipment, process flow, and labor utilization challenges.

Support and optimize robotic and automated systems, including robotic welding, material handling, and press brake automation.

Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to evaluate, justify, and implement automation and technology investments that improve efficiency, safety, and capacity.

Ensure equipment reliability and uptime through effective preventive maintenance planning and coordination with Maintenance teams.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal quality systems and external regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare manufacturing.

Partner with Quality to address nonconformances, lead corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous quality improvement.

Maintain compliance with ISO standards and applicable industry regulations.

Safety, Culture & Engagement

Champion a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety standards and continuous reduction of workplace risk.

Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action follow‑ups across the plant.

Lead with transparency, collaboration, and accountability, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, and operational discipline.

EXPIRENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

5–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication or metal working environments.

Demonstrated hands‑on experience in a production facility.

Experience with robotics and automation (e.g., robotic welding).

Proven ability to develop, track, and drive performance through KPIs.

Strong background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem‑solving.

Proven experience leading and developing teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Experience in manufacturing healthcare‑related products or working in regulated industries.
