Job Title: Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer
Work Location: Houston, TX (Spring Campus) Travel: Required – travel to Williston, ND at least one week per month (travel reimbursable) Schedule: Monday–Friday Pay Rate: $89/hr Position Overview
The Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and engineering support for upstream unconventional oil & gas facilities. This role will support instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems across design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases. The position is Houston-based with routine travel to Williston, ND to support field execution and coordination. Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering oversight for Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Electrical systems (low and medium voltage) Support design engineering, construction, and commissioning efforts for upstream facilities Interface with project management, operations, and contractors to ensure scope alignment and execution quality Support automation and control system design and implementation Ensure compliance with applicable NEC codes, ISA standards, and company engineering standards Participate in project planning, execution reviews, and troubleshooting efforts Support capital project execution and operational reliability initiatives Skills and Qualifications
Required
10–15+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls and Electrical engineering Experience supporting I&E design engineering, construction, and commissioning Strong background in automation and control systems Experience supporting unconventional oil & gas facilities Working knowledge of NEC code and ISA standards Proven experience in project management and cross-functional coordination Engineering degree required Preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) license Prior experience supporting upstream oil & gas operations in North Dakota or similar basins Additional Notes
Houston-based role with recurring travel to Williston, ND Travel expected one week per month minimum No per diem noted; travel expenses reimbursed per policy
