What You Will Achieve The Gastroenterology Health & Science Sales Specialist is responsible for launching new products, deciding upon best strategies to manage business relationships, understanding formulary access, and engaging in product promotion within assigned accounts. In addition, the rep is charged with sales efforts and relationship development with assigned customers and accounts, including Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
This role requires strong customer, market and business acumen combined with product and disease‑state knowledge; demonstration of strong sales, promotional and strategic business‑development and management skills; in‑depth customer engagement expertise in both virtual and in‑person settings; a systematic approach to virtual engagement; outstanding communication skills; and proficiency with digital and virtual tools. The ability to work remotely in collaboration with cross‑functional internal teams to address customer needs and comply with Pfizer business objectives is essential.
How You Will Achieve It
Identify and implement the most efficient virtual or in‑person engagement strategies for each customer to maximize overall effectiveness and impact. Develop and implement effective business and territory call plans and adapt based on self‑identified opportunities and insights.
Build rapport and relationships with customers across virtual and face‑to‑face environments; maintain a methodical approach toward call objectives (e.g., clear next steps, documentation, KPI management). Utilise current digital tools (Veeva Engage, Zoom, Microsoft Office) and rapidly adapt to new/beta tools for successful customer engagement; use analytics to develop insights and next‑best‑action plans.
Deliver relevant, targeted messaging with approved materials to drive product demand, influence prescribing behavior, and support positive business outcomes. Provide insights for new and innovative product messaging and resources.
Leverage product and disease‑state knowledge to educate providers on unbranded and branded product value proposition for relevant patient populations; use approved clinically‑oriented disease‑state information as applicable.
Work effectively with HCPs and direct office staff in planning customer engagements in multiple formats (virtual, in‑person).
Strategically deploy approved Pfizer resources (samples, vouchers, co‑pay resources, patient education) to support providers and patient needs. Integrate guidance from Marketing, Strategy, and other support functions into pre‑call planning and optimise call environment across multiple locations.
Support patients’ access to Pfizer products by providing relevant information on reimbursement, Patient Assistant Program (PAP), Pfizer hub programs, and co‑pay resources.
Present terms of sale of product or existing contract terms with approved language; answer on‑label questions; introduce customers to the new on‑demand portal (Galaxy) with targeted content.
Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues (Field Medical, Reimbursement, Key Account Management) to address inquiries and advance Pfizer objectives. Use triaging protocols and digital apps to connect with appropriate SMEs.
Utilise calendaring tools, leadership goals, and personal insights to prioritize customer calls; bring customer survey insights to leadership.
Must Haves
Bachelor’s Degree or an associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech or medical marketing/promotional/sales experience, with a promoted or developmental role demonstrating leadership across peer groups and expertise in third‑party reimbursement and service centers.
History of marketing, promotional or sales success, strong territory management, outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated teamwork, leadership and accountability.
Must live within 50 miles of the territory.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards. Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years disqualifies the applicant.

Other Job Details: Last Day to Apply: January 22. Annual base salary ranges from $114,500 to $222,100. During initial new hire sales training, position is classified as a salary non-exempt employee entitled to overtime pay; after training completion, it becomes an overtime exempt employee. Additional quarterly sales incentive bonus is available.
