Purpose The Senior Analyst will be a key part of Risk Insights function, which provides horizontal oversight and aggregated risk capabilities. The Senior Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting regular and ad-hoc risk reports to management and board level committees and other regulatory bodies, working with various stakeholders while supporting report development leveraging Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power Automate to build scalable, automated solutions. The Senior Analyst will also provide administrative support for business management activities as needed.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What You’ll Do Support weekly/monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc risk reporting for various management and board committees and regulatory bodies.

Agenda setting and tracking

Development of presentation materials (including compilation of various risk team’s report submission as well as creation of new contents)

Responding to audit/regulatory inquiries on committee meeting materials

Other admin activities such as committee membership attendance tracking, charter update, recordkeeping, etc.

Support delivering impactful, data-driven insights through advanced visualization and reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making across U.S. Risk Management.

Translate complex business needs into intuitive dashboards and automated workflows using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and the Microsoft Power Platform.

Play a critical part in shaping analytical narratives, optimizing data pipelines, and enabling scalable, self-service reporting capabilities that drive operational efficiency and business performance.

Other business management accountabilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Calendar management

Townhalls and other people engagement activities

Business continuity plan

Organization charts and headcount management

Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring

1-3 years of experience preferably within the financial services industry

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hold a problem-solver mindset that creates/implements new solutions and motivates others

Highly organized with attention to details

Team player

Ability to prioritize and operate proactively

Understand the importance of being well organized while being in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
