Role Overview

Controls Engineering is responsible for building the next generation firm‑wide control plane for use in Asset & Wealth Management. The successful candidate will use their deep technical skills to build solutions to manage and implement risk management controls tailored to the diverse products and services offered to AWM clients. The role involves building out web applications that allow users to register, develop and administer controls on the platform.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and design new features for Control Management and Implementation

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of Risk Managers and Control Managers to gather requirements and define technical solutions

Design, develop and maintain complex software systems and applications

Implement and maintain best practices for software development and engineering processes

Develop and maintain software documentation, including design specifications, user guides and manuals

Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of software systems

Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues

Collaborate with engineering leadership, developers, and operations through written and verbal presentations.

Lead and participate in technical architecture reviews

Mentor and coach junior engineers

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

3+ years of experience in software development and engineering

Working knowledge of Java & React

Solid understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures

Experience in developing large‑scale, highly available, and distributed systems

Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web services

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Experience with Agile software development methodologies

Experience formulating clear and concise written and verbal descriptions of Software and Systems and tracking and managing delivery of the same
