The Company provides technology and acoustic consulting and design services for hundreds of nationwide clients with headquarters in New York City. The company is a subsidiary of Trinity Consultants, a multi‑billion‑dollar company with over 130 offices worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced ICT Technical Lead to manage a team (and also work on) the design of outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) pathways and cabling systems on large‑scale, multi‑building data center campus projects for hyperscale clients. Responsible for design quality and consistency, and on‑time delivery of client projects.
Position Summary The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience managing engineers providing design and construction administration services and workflows. The position requires working on and managing personnel to provide effective and efficient project delivery.
Strong interpersonal, project management, and client management skills are required. Knowledge of large‑scale outside plant conduits, duct banks, and distribution systems, data center equipment layout, and multi‑tier cabling pathways is necessary. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) design delivery is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical touchpoint for OSP and ISP pathways and cabling design on assigned data center campus projects.
Function as design lead for underground duct banks, vaults, building entrances, and campus fiber/copper distribution and inside plant systems including cable tray, ladder rack, equipment layouts, backbone and horizontal cabling.
Review and approve design packages, ensuring compliance with client standards, constructability, and long‑term scalability.
Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and BIM teams to resolve complex cross‑discipline issues.
Guide team members through design challenges related to interdisciplinary coordination, redundancy, diversity, and future expansion.
Support client engagement, technical workshops, and design reviews.
Translate client operational requirements into buildable designs.
Perform quality assurance reviews of deliverables.
Operational Accountabilities 1. Personnel Management
Team and individual personnel management.
Constant interaction with team members working on multiple projects.
Communicate and work closely with the management team (NYC based), account executive.
2. Project Management
Continuous oversight and supervision of assigned data center projects, from proposal and resource assignment, programming and design, through construction administration and testing/commissioning.
Manage and attend client and other stakeholder meetings and oversee completion of tasks, development of deliverables, and execution of construction supervision.
Monitor and supervise development of project deliverables along the milestone schedules and timelines of multiple projects.
Manage project priorities to ensure consistent design and deliverables between different projects.
Track and monitor all projects against budgeted hours – shift workflows and resource allocations as necessary.
Manage and monitor hours logged to client projects to ensure accurate invoicing.
Develop and execute QA/QC plans.
Requirements
Experience in ICT infrastructure design, with demonstrated experience on large data center or mission‑critical campus projects.
Deep expertise in OSP pathways and cabling (duct banks, manholes, diverse routing, campus fiber systems).
Strong expertise in ISP pathways and cabling (tray/ladder rack systems, equipment layouts, backbone and distribution cabling).
Proven ability to lead technical teams, perform design reviews, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
Thorough knowledge of industry standards and codes (TIA, BICSI, and NEC).
Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
BS in Engineering and RCDD certification (preferred).
8 – 15+ years of demonstrable technical skills and people/team management.
Strong and demonstrable project management experience.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
Understanding of construction documentation and CAD/BIM workflows/standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
