Licensed Nurse preferred (LPN, LVN, or RN) Knowledge and experience processing in Schedulingdatabases. Working Knowledge of computers, including Excel,Word, and MS Office Knowledge of nursing specialties, opportunities, and qualifications Must possess sensitivity in understandingemployees’ needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing/schedulingrequirements are met for the facility. Ability to represent the facility in a positiveand professional manner. Must be able to work effectively in an individualor team setting. Must be able to perform duties andresponsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonableaccommodation. Essential Functions:

Makes Caregiver shift assignments and ensuresthat assigned duties are completed in a satisfactory manner Monitors performance of caregivers forcompliance with established policies and procedures, and to ensure quality residentcare Manages shift coverage when staff members callin sick for the oncoming shift Participates in Caregiver orientation andtraining Responsible for scheduling and other staffingduties, as requested Conducts building tours when requested Communicate with family members, physicians, andother outside healthcare providers, such as hospice, wound care, PT, OT,Pharmacy, etc. Exercises independent discretion in respondingto resident emergencies, determining the need for and contacting emergencyservices, and/or physician and family, as appropriate Documents observations, concerns, changes inresident conditions, incidents, and/or accidents, and ensures that follow-updocumentation occurs until the issue is resolved Reports observations, concerns, and changes inresident condition to Health Services Director (HSD) or Administrator Communicates resident needs and concerns tofamily members and physicians Records and implements physician orders,following appropriate procedures for fax and telephone orders Ensures that information and interventionsrecorded on resident service plans are implemented by Caregivers Will take the lead on first aid response, safety, and disaster situations while on duty Participates in the narcotic count Sets up, dispenses, and documents all residentmedications Responsible for maintaining an orderly medicationcart, medication room, and accurate medication administration records Monitors the daily care of all residents Staffing/ Scheduling

Establishes staffing patterns andschedules for nurses and nursing assistants. Works with human resources toadvise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessaryfor the smooth flow of work regarding employees. Assists in securing staff forabsences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required. Works with the health servicessupervisor to schedule training classes.
